Oatmeal Raisin Cookies for My Dad!

Happy Birthday Papa!

If anyone has ever met my Father they would know that he loves nothing more than an oatmeal raisin cookie. I remember once when I was little, he read that Oatmeal Raisin cookies were also the favorite of President Bill Clinton. He searched online to find the recipe prepared by the then First Lady, Secretary of State, Hilary Rodham Clinton.  He prepared the recipe and said to me; “These are the same cookies the President eats.”

While the First Lady cookies are pretty good, I endeavored to prepare an Oatmeal Raisin cookie recipe that fast and equally delicious.  I don’t think you will be disappointed.

And always remember that if you don’t want to bake you can take: bakersntakers@gmail.com

What you will need:

  • 115 grams of margarine (1/2 cup)
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup of flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups of rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup raisins

Like I said this is very easy. Preheat your oven to 375f/190c. We are going to start by mixing all the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. That includes: sugar, flour, baking soda and cinnamon. I just have to say I absolutely love cinnamon. Set that aside in the meantime while we take a medium size mixing bowl and mix all the wet ingredients, make sure you margarine is melted!

Once you are all mixed up combine the two into the large mixing bowl and add the oats and raisins.

Can you believe me know how easy this is and how fast. All the you have left to do is roll them out and stick in your oven for 15 minutes and that’s it!
